First of all what a nice place to hold a Pedal Pull. the Boone County Fairgrounds was able to give us a great spot and it will only improve in the future as the scheduling is worked out more in advance. Thank you George and Sam for your support.
Getting all the pats on the back was greatly appreciated. The crew worked hard and the pull went well.
We had over 100 competitors and 51 of 54 qualifiers signed up for Nationals. We expect great things from these young people. exactly the same number of boys as girls pulled.
Please make sure that you qualifiers have a birth certificate with you at Nationals. They will be very strict on this.

What a great percentage of the participants were home state kids or kids that pull most of the time in Missouri. Most State Pulls feature many more out of state competitors. All competitors qualify by pulling at local pulls in the State of Missouri. Check the Sanctioned pullers list to find a puller for your next event and qualify your kids for the State pull. I know we had one question about size of the tractor used for 10 year old boys and fact is, it is the biggest used or as big as any State uses in particular is a good deal larger than the Iowa State one used every year for many years. With our girls as large as they are you know we are aware of the need for stretch tractors and we are one of only four or five in the midwest that have as many stretched as we do. We will continue to take your thoughts into advisement for future pulls. We have been investigating the tire spin issue and believe we have already found an answer for the next indoor event with a slick floor. If we run this event again we will have some great plans for how to do it better, yet. We neeed to get our qualifiers up to 400-500 and our participants up to 300 in the future. Please find us some folks willing to invest in quality equipment and run these events then they need to become members so we can reach more children in the State of Missouri.
Thank you to our Crew. Shannon Saulmon, Travis Mistler, Erma (mom/grand ma) Myers, Janet (my sister) Workman, Gladys Demanett, Symone (participation ribbons) Demanett, Sam Sullivan, George Harris, Willo (my wife) Myers, Kendra (announcer) Myers, and Kayla (white board/Photos) Myers.
Thanks to all who made it to the pull. Great cheering for all contestants and for the most part few unsportsmanlike moments. I think most folks understood it about the best effort of every child and in some cases the child that never gets in the spot light has a moment. Such as Kendra our daughter trying after 5 years of trying to make national in her last chance. She works so hard at every pull and then jumps in to pedal. She was crying because she made it to Nationals and she really did not care the place. As we often say it is the journey that shows your character not what you get from it. No one tries harder than some of the children in our states and they seldom have their moment. We are so blessed to try in our ministry for children to do just that for many. We have one girl retiring after Nationals and another a year away, then we really will have all our focus on other's children. Thanks for letting us be involved with your children. And last but not at all least Thank you to our heavenly father for the safe travel and no injuries at our event. With out his blessing all the trophies in the world won't gain you admittance to the greatest event of all.
We dedicate our pulls to my father's memory. I would like to say we dedicated this pull to my wife Willo who was just diagnosed with a form of Leukemia a couple of weeks before the pull and never broke stride in helping to make this work for the children of Missouri.
